For those who were told that they couldn’t do something

This video made me cry and smile at the same time.

  • First, because I also went through that situation (I have a daughter diagnosed with diabetes). It was the most traumatic experience in my life. Nothing puts things in perspective like seeing your child about to die. But we picked up the pieces, adapted and came out of it stronger. Now she has a perfectly normal life, with some special health habits.
  • And second because it is an inspiration for anybody who is told that he will never be able to do something. Not because it is actually impossible, but because there’s a limiting belief in someone else’s mind. Don’t buy it!

Never surrender! You may adapt or have limitations because of objective factors, but the only real failure is admiting defeat when you still can do something about it. In life, you only lose when you don’t get up and keep trying and learning.

So thank you Zverev for reminding us that sports are not about balls and matches, but about sharing emotions and striving for excellence. Sports are a school for life.
