It is our supreme value, the one that makes us human and differentiates us from other living beings. People give their best when they feel they are the protagonists of their decisions, always in a responsible and respectful way towards others. We aspire to be “free to…” (positive freedom, eleutheria) and at least to be “free from…” (negative freedom).
We do not settle for imposed obligations or accept golden cages, out of comfort or fear. We are not attached to anything or anyone. We respect our own commitments, not someone else’s impositions.
We appreciate originality and creativity. We like to explore unknown paths, at the risk of making mistakes. We also respect the freedom of others to act or speak (isegoria). We appreciate honest personal and cognitive differences, since in uniformity or identity collectivization there is no individuality possible.
We want to have equal opportunities (not results) (isonomy), disagree, choose, take initiative, take reasonable risks, hit, miss, and star in our lives. And leave a legacy of more powerful people within companies and societies that respect the individual.
